Funded research

Research projects

Two consecutive national grants, funded by the Romanian Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization through CNCS – UEFISCDI. The first established event-based fractional-order control of anesthesia. The second builds the clinical-data infrastructure and robust control methods on top of it.

OngoingTE56/2025

Event-based surgical protocol digitalization for system identification and robust control in general anesthesia

Fractional-order control concepts are designed and tested on a full anesthesia–hemodynamic patient simulator. The simulator includes patient variability, blood-loss effects and surgery-specific disturbance profiles, and is validated on a 5×5 multivariable setting.

Event-based fractional order control of general anaesthesia

The combined anesthesia–hemodynamic system is controlled as one multivariable process. Event-based fractional-order controllers are triggered by surgical stimuli and boluses, and validated on a configurable simulator with data from 24 patients.
